Tightening Your Food Budget Belt

Do you ever feel like when you food shop you end up with the same ole items in your cart? Then all week, you’re stuck making the same ole meals and you believe that it is due to the economy and nothing you can do about it? Well there is something you can do! You can start to look at things differently. First go explore your pantry. Organize and/or list cans, boxes, whatever food items you have on hand (check all expiration dates while you are at it). Second, do the same with your herbs and spices. Next sit at your computer and look for new ways to use what you already have. You don’t have to follow recipes exactly or even have every ingredient listed. Just looking at new meal ideas can really help you save money by not wasting PLUS add some new tastes and variety to your weekly menu.
If you can start cooking in double quantities, you can freeze half and even freeze leftovers for a quick lunch or side dish.
