Discount Entertainment and Fun!

Is it time to step out of your regular routine and keep yourself active and alive in life? Here are a few ideas for you. If you are looking to network for work, desire to take the family or just get yourself out to do something different or maybe you are single or new in town and are looking to meet people, check the Newspaper (you can read one for free in the library or borrow one in a Diner) plus surf online for local events, self-improvement seminars, local park listings, join clubs of interest (or to go listen to music in), lectures, free concerts and other free or low priced activities. Some things are worth the investment to pay for if you are interested enough. Examples include taking a class or joining a gym.
Now that you have some ideas – put them on your calendar and GO! Your life will remain *the same* unless you DO something different.
For all you movie goers out there - go to the matinee for a change and save yourself a couple of dollars. If it is a family movie, great - the kids are still in bed at a decent hour. If it is with friends or a date, you can go out, take a stroll or sit in the park afterward and talk about the movie.
Get yourself out there - that is the main point. Many adventures and offers waiting for you, but again, they just will not come knocking on your door. Have fun and share your ideas with us here too! :)

Calm and comfort

Did you know that smelling Lavender has a calming effect? If you have plants, rub flowers between your hands and deeply inhale, holding it in for a few seconds. Do this a few times (also good to do with essential lavender oil) to relax and calm yourself or your children. Dab on wrists and sides of your neck as well.  It is always best to consult your Dr. if you have allergies, just to be on the safe side. Below is some more good information. Share your “how to calm yourself” tips here. ~*Peace*~

Take a small bottle of Lavender essential oil on the plane with you. You can dab it on the nasty-smelling blanket to make you feel like you’re a super-deluxe first class situation. It’s also lovely to rub a few drops in your palms after using the restroom - it’ll take away that “plane” smell and your fellow passengers will love you for it.

Taking Care of Family, Friends and Neighbors by Sharing

Often we receive notices for local food drives by various organizations for different reasons. Many current newspaper articles indicate that the local food pantries and emergency food distribution centers are closing or have to turn people away. If you have extra canned goods or nonperishable items, why not pass them along to family members, friends, neighbors or the local emergency food distribution spots, who are in need?

Since I am like a squirrel and often over stock, I enjoy sharing with family and friends lately.  I walk in with groceries and say “If you can’t use these, pass them on because I am overflowing with all my couponing and sales purchases.” Sometimes it isn’t easy for people to accept but who doesn’t like free groceries? Random acts of kindness make us all feel good. 
Have you done any lately?
